FPIK menetapkan misi penelitian, yaitu menyelenggarakan riset dan pengembangan berdasarkan roadmap kelompok keilmuan untuk meningkatkan keragaman ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi sumber daya perikanan dan kelautan yang unggul, menghasilkan publikasi ilmiah dan perolehan HKI sekaligus menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat dan pembangunan daerah\/nasional. Sementara<br>PS BDP memiliki misi penelitian menyelenggarakan penelitian yang kompetitif dan berkualitas dalam bidang teknologi dan manajemen perikanan dengan prioritas budidaya laut guna<br>menjawab tantangan dan kebutuhan masyarakat lokal, regional, nasional dan global. Misi tersebut disusun dan dijalankan sesuai roadmap penelitian 5 kelompok keilmuan PS BDP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Hasil evaluasi kegiatan penelitian disimpulkan bahwa DTPS dan mahasiswa PS BDP melakukan penelitian berdasarkan roadmap dan renstra penelitian, kesesuaiannya mencapai 94,4%. Pelibatan mahasiswa baru mencapai 28.4%, namun dalam kegiatan penelitian DTPS sangat membantu penyelesaian dan peningkatan kualitas skripsi mahasiswa, termasuk publikasi dan paten yang dihasilkan. Kinerja penelitian DTPS, bahwa setiap dosen telah berperan aktif dengan mengikuti penelitian hibah nasional, penelitian kerjasama internasional, hibah penelitian kerjasama dengan PEMDA, maupun penelitian mandiri. Sumber pendanaan penelitian DTPS sebanyak 92 % berasal dari luar PT dan Internasional, mengindikasikan bahwa DTPS BDP mempunyai daya kompetitif yang tinggi dalam melakukan penelitian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
